What Server to Use
When sending emails in Loyalty Forge, you have three options for how to send email. There are pros and cons to each.
Your Existing Email Server
Using your existing email server may work if the quantity of emails that you send is very small. Most service providers disallow sending of mass email as part of their terms of service on general-use email hosting. This option may be a good one, however, if your email customer base is small since it will not require any additional configuration.
Loyalty Forge Email Server
As part of your Loyalty Forge service, you can send up to 5,000 emails per month. We can quote packages that provide more, but not extreme amounts more. In order to use the Loyalty Forge email server, you will need to configure the SPF record for your company’s domain name. Our team is happy to assist with that.
Third parties like SendGrid and Mailgun have per-message pricing and can send near limitless numbers of emails. If your customer base is huge, then this is your answer. Just like with our Loyalty Forge mail server, you will need to configure the SPF record for your company’s domain. We’re happy to assist with that if you want help, but if you’re this big, you probably don’t need our help with DNS.
